A public prayer.

God, I need your help. I need to make sense of this world. I need to know what the truth is, and most of all, I need you. It's not just for my benefit any more, it's for the people around me - I'm meant to be a shining light for you, and lately I haven't really been doing that. I don't feel guilty about it, I know guilt isn't a sensible response in a saved person, but I feel like I could be doing so much more.

I remember being so fired up with passion for You. Living for You was all that I wanted; it fulfilled me, gave me a purpose. Please just remind me what that means. Help me look in the right places, Lord, because I know I need You.

Like I say, it isn't just me any more. Thank you that I'm not alone in this; thank you for those who are a support to me, and I pray that you give me the strength and wisdom to be the same for them. Because I'm fully aware that being 'a basically nice person' isn't nearly enough.

Thank you for everything I've been through, good and bad, and I pray that I'm able to use it to help someone.

Love, your child, friend, and servant,
Anna.

  1. Your passion is very evident in this prayer. Perhaps you don't feel passionate in a way you're used to, but believe me you are.

Keep praying girl. That closeness will come. Your Father loves His little girl. Fix your eyes on Jesus as best you can, meditate on Him, and you'll see all the beauty you could ever hope to hold in your heart.

    Love,
    - Gav

  4. Hi Anna,
Firstly, thank you very much for you comment on my blog. Hope you'll come back and keep checking up, as I will on you!

Secondly, I have a great respect for anyone who a) doesn't drink and b) is religious. So you get double the amount. I hate the fact that in England everything is so drink-centric. When I went to Italy you couldn't find a pub for love nor money, as their love is food. If we drank, we would have water too, and there was no intention of getting drunk. This is an attitude that the UK needs.

As far as religion goes, I have never been religious, which I think is because I got an interest in science and wanting to know the answers at an early age. Religion as you know is all about faith, and anyone who can have faith is an amazing person, and is a lot stronger than I could ever be. You are a lucky person.

    Samba x
