I remember now!

Ohhh yeah! I'm Anna! Born and raised on the Isle of Wight, good with people, slightly naive, idealistic. Child of God (so if you mess with me... ;) ). Very empathic, well-meaning but lazy, I love sunshine and my boys. I like words. I'm good with words.

If I'm in Plymouth, I have a reason to be here and a right to be here. These are the things I realised on the way home today. That's why I have once again started walking around like I own these streets.

They say university is about finding your identity, working out who you are. It seems a bit of a shame to get it over with in the first two months, so I'm sure I'll forget and remember who I am a fair few times before I'm done. Such is life. But I am SO GLAD to be more sure of myself. I swear, the second it clicked, I started walking differently. I walked like I owned the place on the Isle of Wight, but why should here be any different?

In the words of Churchill.... OhhhhYES.

  1. I was thinking about this very thing today on the train. (coincidence? O.o)

They say you find yourself at university. They also say that you can totally reinvent yourself and become someone who you want to be. More confident, less bad habits etc. I however think this is totally bogus. As much as I'd like to reinvent myself, I am me. And it would be pretty hard to change me...

Don't be disheartened at finding your identity so soon! Work with it, and soon you'll discover more and more tiny details about yourself as the weeks unfold. Each one will open your eyes to something new and (hopefully) exciting!

I bet you were walking with a real swagger ^^

And isn't sunshine good? I suffer from mild S.A.D so a nice day usually turns out to be a happy day :)

  2. I've found this to be true time and time again. Being a bit of an internet geek, I occasionally get involved with forums. Every time there's a new name and a chance to be a new person, and every time I end up as me! Luckily, I pretty much like who I am. Success.

Yeah, sunshine makes all the difference! It's been very on and off lately hasn't it :)

  3. Ohhh yes it has! Geif sunshine plx...

Internet geekery for the win! I guess every new face is an opportunity to reveal another facet of your personality. Lucky for you really that that is a good thing!

And I'm sure that in my original comment I should've written 'fewer bad habits' instead of 'less bad habits'...

  4. Well, clearly. But you know me, I'm not too picky when it comes to language... *whistles innocently*

  5. Have you ever read "Dear Bob" by Annie Porthouse? It's a very very good book. Available in the fiction section of a christian bookshop or you can borrow mine.
